Roofing System Assessment

Roofing systems are commonly one of the most expensive components of a building and are subjected to some of the harshest environmental conditions. Roofing systems are also a common cause of water intrusion and resultant damage to building components and contents due to a wide range of perils including storm damage, normal aging and deterioration, design or installation deficiencies, and improper maintenance.

The experts at Forensix have extensive experience in evaluating both steep-slope and low-slope roof systems and coverings. Visual evaluation, photographic documentation, assessment of sample areas, and when appropriate, laboratory testing is performed on the roof systems in order to assess and quantify wind-related distress and hail impacts, design and construction defects, and failure of materials.

Forensix has extensive experience in evaluating a wide array of roof coverings, such as modified bitumen, single ply (thermoplastic, poly-vinyl chloride, and proprietary blends), gravel-ballasted built-up roofing (BUR), composition shingles, metal panels, wood shakes/shingles, concrete tile, clay tile, slate, spray foam, and asbestos tile, among others.
