Background
I am an early career architectural professional with a strong foundation in civic design, adaptive reuse, and sustainable building strategies. My academic work focused on transforming underutilized spaces into community-driven environments, with an emphasis on net-zero performance and long-term impact.
Through graduate studies, I explored urban-scale interventions and future-focused systems, including transportation infrastructure and adaptive reuse projects that prioritize social connectivity and environmental responsibility. I approach my work with a design-driven mindset and a focus on how thoughtful detailing and problem-solving translate into meaningful, real-world outcomes.
Since joining Forensix Design, I have been developing my technical expertise in forensic architecture, gaining hands-on experience in understanding how buildings perform over time and how design decisions influence long-term durability and use.
What is your most interesting project or accomplishment?
One of my most meaningful projects was Sonoran Bosque, a graduate studio project located in South Phoenix. The project proposed a net-zero high-rise civic hub that integrates essential amenities; transit access, fresh food, public services, and cultural space into a vertical ecosystem.
The design responded to long-standing disinvestment in the area through the concept of a “vertical bosque,” using passive cooling, shaded terraces, and porous ground-level programming to create a more connected and resilient community environment. I developed the overall design concept, spatial organization, and environmental strategies.
What do you love about your job?
I value the opportunity to work on projects that have a direct impact on real people. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of the work, especially understanding where systems fail and how thoughtful detailing can improve performance over time. It’s rewarding to contribute to more resilient and well-functioning built environments.
Why did you follow your career path?
My interest in architecture developed from early experiences with housing that did not fully meet my family’s needs. That led me to question how and why spaces are designed the way they are, and who they ultimately serve.
Over time, that perspective evolved into a focus on designing with people in mind. I’m particularly interested in how architecture can respond to real needs and improve everyday experiences, and that continues to guide how I approach my work.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family. I also love being outdoors and spending time with my dogs, which gives me a chance to disconnect and reset.
Who or what motivates you?
I’m motivated by the impact that design can have on people’s daily lives. Knowing that design decisions influence how a space performs and is experienced over time pushes me to be thoughtful and intentional in my work.
I’m also driven by continuous improvement building technical knowledge, learning from challenges, and becoming more confident in how I approach both design and problem-solving.
Who or what do you love to work with?
I enjoy working with teams that are collaborative, detail-oriented, and solution-focused. I value environments where people communicate clearly, take ownership of their work, and are committed to producing thoughtful, high-quality outcomes.
