What is your most interesting project or accomplishment?

Tornado Damage Investigation in a School District
A school district in Texas experienced significant damage as a result of a tornado event. In performing the site investigation and working alongside other personnel, I strengthened my experience in multiple aspects of forensic engineering beyond the technical evaluation of damage. This project involved coordination with various parties and reinforced the importance of thorough analysis and documentation in forensic investigations.

Observing the recovery and rebuilding efforts following the tornado allowed me to observe the resilience of the affected community. Witnessing community members support one another during the recovery process reinforced the purpose behind my work and highlighted the meaningful impact of forensic engineering in post-disaster environments.

What do you love about your job?

I value the fluid nature of forensic engineering, as each project presents unique challenges and opportunities. The work often requires adaptability and problem-solving in changing environments, which makes the field both engaging and rewarding. Additionally, the investigative and reverse-engineering aspects of forensic engineering provide a strong sense of professional satisfaction as each project involves analyzing complex conditions to determine causation and develop sound conclusions.

Why did you follow your career path?

During my senior year at The University of Texas at Austin, I was refining my career interests, but I knew I was seeking a profession that combined hands-on work with field exposure. Through my familiarity with Dr. Ryan Kalina from a prior course at UT Austin, I was introduced to the field of forensic engineering. This interest was further reinforced by Mr. Kerry Lee, which provided valuable insight into the profession and its applications.

These experiences solidified my interest in forensic engineering and ultimately guided my decision to pursue this career path. Since entering the field, I have remained confident in that decision and firm in the conclusion that I have found a professional discipline that aligns with both my skills and interests.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new skills and hobbies. I also have a passion for travel and discovering new experiences, whether locally or abroad, and I always look forward to opportunities for personal growth and adventure.

Who or what motivates you?

My motivation comes from a strong internal drive and a commitment to excellence. I strive to perform at the highest level in all aspects of my life, understanding that achieving this requires consistent learning.

Who or what do you love to work with?

I enjoy working with people who are positive and approachable while staying focused and productive. The team at Forensix is a great example, making collaboration both enjoyable and effective.
